I'm Atinesh Lal, a licensed Texas insurance agent here in the Rio Grande Valley and the founder of 1Health1Life. I help my neighbors find coverage they can actually use — medical, dental, vision, and life protection — with one local person to call when something doesn't make sense.

How I got here

I was born in Fiji and raised in California, where my first job was a paper route at twelve years old. After high school I joined the military, then studied molecular biology at the University of California. In 2010 I came to South Texas to teach, and I've been in the classroom for sixteen years — earning a master's degree in chemistry along the way. In 2020 I started helping people with health insurance. That work grew into 1Health1Life.

Why this work

I've sat where you're sitting. I've had insurance and still skipped a follow-up appointment because of the copay. I've left a prescription at the pharmacy counter because it cost too much. My family gave up speech therapy for our kids because the weekly copays stacked up faster than the paycheck did.

Coverage you can't afford to use isn't protection. My job is to remove barriers and increase access to care — and if the plan in front of you isn't right for your family, I'll tell you so, even when it costs me the sale.
